Located at Plaza Indepedencia right across the Santo Nino Church and Magellan’s Cross you’ll find the oldest and smallest fort in the Philippines. Fuerte de San Pedro or Fort San Pedro was a military defense structure built by the Spaniards under Miguel López de Legazpi’s command.

Fort San Pedro has been a huge part of Cebu’s history, from repelling the Muslim raiders in the 17th-century and protecting the Filipino Revolutionaries in the 19th-century to becoming a school and an army camp during the World War II, it has served everyone who needed it. This Fort has been around for centuries and it’s still standing, take a time to visit the past.
