Seven Seas Waterpark and Resort: The Pirate Themed Waterpark in Cagayan de Oro City
June 24, 2018
Known as a city with the friendliest people in the country and for its famous white water rafting, Cagayan de Oro City is gaining a lot of popularity in tourism activities. Apparently, there is a new tourist attraction that will be surely loved by the locals and visitors.
Located at Barra, Opol, Misamis Oriental, Seven Seas Waterpark and Resort has opened to the public on October 28, 2017. Since then, the place is visited by people who love water adventures with its thrilling rides. No need to worry about it though since lifeguards are always visible in every area.
Tickets are available on the ticketing window just before you enter the park. On the entry to the vicinity of the park, you will be greeted by their friendly and lovely staff.
If you’re on a budget and have a time on a weekday (except Fridays), you might as well grab a ticket within those days since you can save up to 20%. There are also free cottages on the area.
If you’re hungry, you may just have a grab of their meal as well that you can buy for as cheap as Php 109. You may as well need that since you cannot bring your own food from outside the park.
Now let’s have some fun. Let’s start with the kids. They can ride a variety of slides and play on this kids park. Built for our little ones, they may enjoy playing with their new friends as well. You may also watch them from the sides since there are also cottages placed near the area. Just watch out for that big bucket at the top of the park, you may end up like this guy on the picture below.
In just a walking distance from Captain Kidd’s Hideout, you can see one of the two towers. Jolly Roger Tower has 3 slides that you can ride with from Escape Tunnel, Pira-Chute, and Riptide Reef.
Escape Tunnel is an enclosed spiral slide with blue and red color on it. While the Pira-Chute is an open spiral green slide.
Riptide Reef, another slide from Jolly Roger Tower is a boomerang slide. It requires two people for a ride. You now then will ride an inflatable water raft and slide all the way down to the bottom.
Now, let’s head now to the Pirate Lookout Tower, located on the other end of the park. This tower houses 5 slides that you can ride on if you’re brave enough.
Let’s look at the first 3 slides on this tower, Pacific Race, Cutlass, and Cannon Ball Run. Pacific Race is a 3 tube speed challenge slide. This is a fun and exhilarating competition with you and your friends. Next is the Cutlass, This 100-meter green and white linear slide is giving you 2 points of free fall sensation before plunging and stopping in showers of spray. Ever wonder what it’s like to be inside a cannon and shoots you out in an open air? You may try the Cannon Ball Run, a red and white linear slide which is one of the country’s highest and fastest open slide where riders experience a longer free fall from five stories high at 50 km per hour.
Now, let us look at the 2 remaining slides in this tower, The Plank Drop, and Cyclone. Would you like to know how gravity works? If yes, then you must try Plank Drop. This slide allows you to stand still on a platform and in 3 … 2 … 1 … You’ll drop like you’ve never been dropped before. Just don’t freeze (just in case you got the reference).
The last slide from this tower is, of course, the Cyclone, the Largest waterslide in the Philippines. You must find yourself with your friends since this slide requires 4 people to ride on it.
If you just want to chill out and go with the flow (literally go with the flow) you may also try the Mighty Maui River that takes you in a 400-meter ride with an inflatable that you can lay down.
All in all, your ticket is worth the fun, unforgettable and worthwhile experience since all of the rides are free! Finally, we can add another tourist attraction in our bucket-list once you visit the City of Golden Friendship.
